Currently the software is available on Windows version only.
We require minimum Windows Vista or later version, the RAM memory of 2GB is sufficient to use this software but we recomment 4GB of RAM
Anyone having basic machining knowledge and can sequence the operations can use this software very effectively. The prime idea is to ofload estimation to such person and supervise the outcome to be more faster turnaround of estimates.
Meeting estimation time with shopfloor times is a big challange and requires lot of standardisation and process contol on every aspect. The major parts that effect the cycle times are the Safe Distance (approach length), tooling strategy and speed feeds used by diffrent programmers. If you watch the Operations video you could see how the above parameters effect the cycle time.
Every programmar has his/her own working style and limitations and this effects the final cycle time during manufacturing.
Frankly if you standardise the above mentioned parameters you can reduce down the bandwidth of the inaccuracies. We have seen programmers restricting a 8000 rpm spindle to 3000 rpm no idea why this effects the cutting time to a greater extent.
You will have to start with a larger bandwidth and over time reduce the inaccuracies.
The easiest way we recommend is to take a component that is been machined on the shop floor start estimating the Cycle time and compare them. Highlight the area of diffrences like Safe Distance, Speed Feed, Machining Stratergy and then again input the diffrences in VRiddhi and calculate the cycle time. if you do it for 4 to 5 components you yourself will come up with the accuracy of the software.
The diffrence of cycle time can be adjusted in the Mark-up of the setup
We have prepared various videos on Costing Methodology and CRUD once you understand this then its just selecting the maching sequences. As mentioned the person needs to have a basic knowledge of machining, rest all is fill in the blanks kind of activity.
If you understand the Costing Methodology and CRUD then 2 days are just enough for you to start using the software to its fullest.
We strongly recommend you to watch all the videos even before downloading the trial version and going ahead with trials.
One License is just sufficient unless you have to quote over 50 components per day.
The key factor is the universal sharing of database you are going to build, we had thought of bringing a multi user version of VRiddhi but currently the licensing cost of database and its yearly renewal cost does not make sense for the effort added to that you will require server and VPN to use the multi user version.
If we could explore some cost effective solution for multi user we will definitely launch it, else will also make a high cost server version later.
Even we were using Excel to find cycle times but found that calculating cycle time erratic as it never compensated for the machine acceleration/deceleration and we used to add markup to our calculations. But during negotiations we lost track of the mark-up that was been added.
For simple example Pecking Cycle time calculation on excel without Macro is a tough job.
Simply if I cannot analyse (break down the cost components) the estimate it as good as a guess work.
If you are comfortable using Excel continue doing so. In fact our first effort of developing the software was on excel using Macro but it failed big time.
Some components will only require a CAM software to predict the cycle times. Honestly our experience has been that over 70% of the RFQ you quote for you never received order, moreover many times we receive PDF drawings or sometimes just hand sketch so every time converting them to 3D drawings is a uphill task.
CAD CAM output is also has its own challenges and primary task is to make estimate and send it to customer based on their feedback we can revaluate the calculations. You like it or not this will remain a challange always.
But if you are comfortable with your present costing methods its fine. You can use the Cycle Time from the CAM software and use VRiddhi for Total cost working of continue as you are making your estimations.
There has been huge developments in tooling technology it becomes practically impossible to incorporate all the tooling information.
The Speed feed data provided by tool OEM is very rarely used by us so just dumping the OEM Speed Feed data is not going to help.
You will have to build your own tooling database information from the shopfloor, by this way you can reduce the bandwidth of the inaccuracies in estimation.
You get total Fully Functional Trial of 20 days, like a calculator has a fixed working all the proprietary formula works identically the same. During this trial period if you feel the software does not meet your needs you need not purchase it.
We do not restrict you on the number of PC you can install the Trial version on. So if you want to have more trials you can use a different PC
Refund of sales has own problems as accounting in India is more complex and managing it with refunds will be a mammoth task for us, so we are currently keeping out of refund facility.
The key factor is database if your system is corrupted and if you are not able to extract the database you will end up rebuilding the database again. While we can transfer the license to other system through offline means but this will require cooperation from both of us.
Data of any company is very precious and the data security and confidentiality has become a major challenge so we do not store any information apart from PC identity and details you submit at the time of registering the trial version.
We did our honest effort to bring everything we knew in this software, we too are eager to include everything that falls under machining in to this software, if something is missed out bring it to our notice and we will incorporate it in next version, after all this is the first roll out of VRiddhi and we are going to go along a long way.
